Week Of Prayer: Day 1 (Hospitality Department)

Today is the very first day of our week of prayer! We are so thankful for your partnership in asking for God's will, provision, and protection over Black Lake Bible Camp.

Today we are praying for our hospitality department.

Guest Groups account for roughly 75% of our annual revenue.

Beyond that, some of our most significant relationships and partnerships come from our guest groups! It's such an honor to partner with other ministries to work towards our united vision of seeing the love of Jesus shared with everyone.

Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
— Romans 12:9-3

As we pray for our hospitality department today, there are three main areas we'd like to cover.

1. Each ministry or organization we partner with.

We want to pray for each ministry/organization as a whole, plus each person who has attended a retreats at Black Lake Bible Camp. They have been just as impacted by COVID-19 as we have, and each ministry certainly needs prayer and support.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • That God would help us foster deeper relationships with guest groups that are not based on merely a transaction but on service and genuine hospitality.

  • That God would bless each group, who have had to cancel or reschedule their retreat during COVID-19.

  • That God would bring new groups to our grounds, even during COVID-19 in the form of family camps or day-use retreats.

  • That our local government would be able to loosen the COVID-19 restrictions so we can safely host more guest groups.

  • For each student and camper who attends a guest group retreat, that they would come to know the love of God and live a life in pursuit of Him.

  • That God would forge new relationships and bless them for the years ahead.

2. The staff members that run the hospitality department.

 PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • That God would bless each member of our hospitality team.

  • That God would strengthen, encourage, and inspire them to seek Him in all areas of life.

  • That God would bless their work bringing about fruitful encounters of HIs grace and love for each guest and camper that come to Black Lake Bible Camp.

  • Ask God to help our hospitality team look to God alone as they find innovative ways to bring groups onto our grounds during COVID-19.

  • That God would guide them during our current strategic planning process as we look ahead to the next three ministry years here. Pray that God will lead this process and give each staff member discernment, creativity, and excitement as we (as a camp-wide team) work on this project.

3. The revenue that this department of our ministry has the potential to bring.

While revenue is not our reason for operating BLBC, it makes it possible for us to operate and therefore is a vital aspect for us to seek God's provision and direction.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Ask that God would bring about the provision we need to serve our groups with excellence.

  • Ask God to bring in more revenue through our guest groups.

  • That God would give us wisdom and discernment in how we use the money we receive, that every penny would be used for His glory alone.
