Trusting a Loving God in Times of Trouble.

Come with us into God’s Word and His presence, and ask your hard questions. This October 4-6, we are hosting a weekend Women’s Retreat at Black Lake Bible Camp. It’s going to be a beautiful time of physical and spiritual refreshment. Together, we will glean from God’s Word, ask our hard questions, be grounded in Biblical Truth, seek answers from the Lord, and worship our Savior.

Come, seek, and ask. Discover more about what it means to Trust a Loving God in times of Trouble.

Meet our speaker: Kristen Brooks

Kristen grew up in a Detroit suburb in Michigan. She was blessed to attend a church that was true to God‘s Word. She went to college in South Carolina where she met her husband, Danny. They remained in South Carolina where her husband became a pastor. In 2017, God called them to move to Salt Lake City, Utah to help with a church revitalization. Kristen loves the different ministries God has called her to in the church, especially teaching women and children. She has four grown children three of whom are married. She just became a grandma in December 2023.

Meet our Worship Leader: Julie Alsin

Julie has been leading worship for 30 years. (At the retreat, she'll share the crazy story of how God called her to this ministry.) She is married to Karl and has been a pastor's wife for 37 years. They have three adult children, two amazing  daughters-in-law, and two adorable granddaughters. Currently, Julie is the Worship Director at Hope Community Church in Olympia. She loves to travel, redecorate the house one room at a time, eat anything chocolate, and read a good mystery. One of her life verses is 1 Timothy 4:7-8, "Train yourself to be godly, for physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both this life and the life to come."
