Week Of Prayer: Day 4 (Maintenance Department)

Today is the 4th day of our week of prayer!

Our Maintenance Department is critical to the survival of BLBC, much like every department in our ministry. Our maintenance team is often behind the scenes working, but they have no shortage of projects they must manage.

Today we want to cover our maintenance department in prayer, but there are some scriptures to meditate on and pray through before we do.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.
— Colossians 3:23-25

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
    their righteousness endures forever.”

10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

2 Corinthians 9:6-15

As we pray for our maintenance department today, there are three main areas we'd like to cover.

1. Pray for the facilities themselves.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Pray that God would bless our campus and use it for His glory.

  • Prat that God would touch each person who steps onto our campus, ask that they would encounter God and be filled with His love.

2. Pray for the staff in Maintenance department.

 PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • For encouragement in the winter months when facilities often fail us.

  • Ask God to give them discernment and understanding as they work together to solve problems with little resources.

  • Pray that all their labor would go to the glory of the Lord.

  • Ask God to bless them!

3. Pray for our volunteers and specific needs we have that would improve our ability to maintain BLBC.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Pray that God would bring a lot of volunteers to help with our Fall Clean Up day on November 7th and that God would bless that day.

  • Ask that God would provide the money needed to maintain our grounds and improve them, all for His glory.

  • Ask that God would bring us a backhoe and a well-running ski boat.
