Not Finished Yet
This morning, cars began to slowly drive into Camp, past the main gate and left at the sign to roll through the Day Camp check-in line. They stopped at the blue-turned-white faded canopy which is showing the wear of 9 weeks in the summer sunshine, where Cabin Leaders were present to walk their kids to Day Camp.
For many, this was a similar routine already completed in earlier weeks this year, for some, the first of five such morning drives. But what many of them might not have considered was that it was the last first-day of the summer.
Week 10 is now underway, our last Day Camp of the 2026 summer season. But we’re not finished yet. 4 ½ days of fun, silly, gospel-centered activities still await our campers and we’re so glad to share it with them.
Neither does the end of summer mean the end of the work. Guest groups will be on site throughout September, October, and beyond, each bringing people closer to God in their own unique ways. Volunteer groups are scheduled to be on site, helping us transition the grounds from summer-camp-readiness into our retreat season norms. School groups will soon start arriving for field trips and Outdoor Edventures.
God’s not finished yet with all that can be accomplished at BLBC, and neither are we.
What sorts of things can be expected at Camp as we move into the retreat season?
You can expect our social media to be filled with news about upcoming events and photos of the hard work our volunteer team and maintenance crew are putting in to keep Camp safe and beautiful.
We can’t express enough just how grateful we are to the men and women who volunteer their time, whether as individuals or as part of the SOWERs teams. We’re excited, too, to welcome a few youth groups who will be coming up for work & worship type retreats, helping out Camp while teaching generosity and servant-hood to their students. (And if this sounds like something your youth group might be interested in, let us know!). I know that I, for one, can’t wait to see not only how their retreat can serve Camp, but also how it impacts the students and helps teach them skills they can use all their life!
In addition to volunteer stories, you can expect to see a return of our “Time Travel Thursdays",” with photos and fun facts from our very beginning on forward. We’re also working on getting the history page expanded, so watch for changes there!

Our biggest Autumn event is the Women’s Retreat! Hosted as two separate weekends due to its popularity, the Women’s Retreat is a well-loved event. You won’t want to miss it this year, so if you haven’t signed up already, follow the link below to find all the information about these weekends of crafting, Biblical teaching, community, and more.
We’ll be announcing some more information about the retreat in mid-September, so if you’re signed up already, keep an eye on your inbox for an email with some schedule information, a list of our break out sessions you can sign up for, and more!
We’ve also got our Winter Camps registration coming up very soon! You can expect those to open early this Fall, though exact dates are still pending.
As we head through this final week of the 2026 summer season, would you continue to pray for the kids and staff who are here? Pray that it will be a week of fun, of community, and that the word of God would be imprinted in the hearts of the campers. Pray for strength and patience for the staff, and for safety for all.
With autumn just around the corner, you can also be praying for the many retreat groups we will be hosting, that their preparations may go smoothly and their retreats might be a beacon of the Gospel for those who attend.
