Legacy Giving

Give for tomorrow

Legacy Giving is an important part of managing your resources as a Godly steward. Legacy Giving starts with “today” and extends beyond your lifetime as your resources are used to help share the Gospel bringing physical and spiritual hope.
Your plans today can make an eternal difference.

Gifts of Stock

Black Lake Bible Camp welcomes all stock and mutual fund transfers. Giving stock held for more than 12 months offers two-fold tax savings. First, you avoid paying capital gains tax on the increase in value of your stock. In addition, you receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift. Subtracting the tax savings from what you originally paid for the stock can result in a gift that costs just pennies on the dollar. This is an excellent option for stock that has appreciated substantially in value.

We partner with the National Christian Foundation to facilitate transfers.

Bequests and Wills

The simplest way to make a Legacy Gift is by naming Black Lake Bible Camp (BLBC) in your will. A bequest is a meaningful way to support our work without affecting your cash flow during your lifetime. Your attorney can include it when you prepare or revise your will or you can add a codicil at any time.

There are several types of bequests:

  • A specific bequest indicates the amount of cash, securities, or other assets you wish to leave to Black Lake Bible Camp, or it can indicate a specific percentage of the total value of your estate. You can also make a bequest for specific assets, such as securities, real estate, or personal property. Please be as specific as possible in identifying the property.

  • A residuary bequest leaves the remaining portion of your estate (or a percentage of the total) after all other bequests have been satisfied including the payment of expenses and any amounts designated to other beneficiaries.

Memorials

So many people look back on their time at Black Lake Bible Camp and remember the friends they met and the life-changing spiritual decisions they made. We call it "a place of spiritual formation" because so many people did in fact meet God for the first time at Black Lake Bible Camp.

That's why many families decide memorial gifts should be designated to Black Lake Bible Camp. It's a place that has made a spiritual impact in their family, and they want to see that impact go on for generations—and stretch into eternity.

If you're considering a memorial gift, our goal is to make it easy for you during what can be a very difficult time.

We want to serve families and make the memorial process as smooth as possible. We send receipts for tax-deductible donations directly to individual donors as well as provide donation records to families so they can thank individual donors at their convenience.
